BIC REA grew out of decades of hands-on real estate practice — not out of a marketing department. The firm came together because its principals had spent careers doing two specific kinds of work that a lot of generalist real estate firms try to do badly: mineral title research that holds up to scrutiny, and direct purchases of properties that conventional buyers cannot or will not handle.
Both specialties demand the same thing: people who actually know the work, taking direct ownership of the file from inquiry through closing. Mineral title is not a job for a back-office contractor in another time zone. Distressed property purchases are not a job for a high-pressure salesperson reading from a script. The clients who need these services well-served deserve people who answer the phone, do the work themselves, and stand behind it.

Founder & Chief Financial Officer
Devin founded BIC REA after more than three decades of real estate practice spanning luxury residential, commercial investment, and mineral rights research. He personally leads the firm's most complex mineral title engagements and oversees every distressed property acquisition.
Chief Operating Officer
Sandra leads BIC REA's mineral title research and curative work, and also handles distressed property acquisitions and probate matters. A private investigator and paralegal, her practice covers chain-of-title verification, runsheet preparation, due diligence packaging, and identification of curative paths for defective titles across more than 30 states. She also manages BIC REA's landmen, assigning and directing the field research on each engagement.
Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Christian leads BIC REA's distressed property acquisitions and the analytical work behind every offer, and also takes on mineral title engagements. His practice focuses on properties with code violations, complex title situations, and other complications that require a buyer willing to take on real risk. He is a member of the International Right of Way Association (IRWA).
Senior Real Estate Acquisition Specialist
JJ leads property sourcing and acquisition for BIC REA's distressed and probate pipeline, from initial identification through negotiation and close. His work centers on market analysis and property evaluation for assets with complicated histories, and he manages the firm's relationships with estate representatives, counsel, and local officials in its acquisition markets. He also leads BIC REA's technology and digital operations — the firm's web presence, marketing systems, analytics, and the data tooling behind its acquisition research.
Real Estate Advisor
Shervin advises on BIC REA's distressed-property acquisitions and handles first contact on incoming distressed-property inquiries. He runs the firm's standing review of public legal notices across the firm's acquisition markets, surfacing probate, tax-default, and foreclosure opportunities for the acquisition team.

We do two things and do them well. We refer out everything else, even when it would be easy to take the work. The clients we keep are clients we can actually serve.
Engagement letters, offers, scope, fee, timeline — in writing, in plain language, before any work begins. If we cannot explain something simply, we keep working until we can.
Mineral title clients should compare quotes. Distressed property sellers should consult an attorney. We expect both. Sales pressure is what people without confidence in their work use.
